Sailfish Place 3rd at Pre-National Meet

ST. LEO, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s cross country made their presence known at the Saint Leo Pre-National Invite, placing 3rd with freshman Cami Rickenbach leading the ‘Fish to a 4th place finish.

PBA finished with 116 points behind only Saint Leo and Tampa who both had 54 points with the Lions winning the tiebreaker.

Rickenbach led the ‘Fish as she’s done all season, turning in a time of 24:46 in the season’s first 6k race. Saint Leo’s Colett Rampf won the race in 22:45, more than a minute ahead of Tampa’s Claudia Cancello. Sara-Caitrin Mandelburg claimed a top-10 finish as well, placing 7th overall with a time of 24:52.

Madison Troyer continues her strong debut season, placing 19th in 26:25 while Sophia Miller placed 35th at 27:24. Three more freshman rounded out the runners for th e’Fish on Saturday with Hope Kanagy (57th), Jessica Lykins (60th) and Makayla Richardson (64th) also racing.

The Sailfish will run again in their first Sunshine State Conference Championship in two weeks, competing in Melbourne on Oct. 22.
