Women's Soccer Announces Upcoming Season Schedule

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- As the fall quickly approaches, the excitement for fall sports also gains momentum. The Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s soccer team has announced their 2008 game schedule as they look to open a new era of Sailfish soccer beginning in August.

While they are still in the process of searching for a new head coach to replace the departing Dwayne Whiteheart who concluded his five years at the helm of the Sailfish soccer program as one of the top coaches in the program’s history. Whiteheart recently accepted the position of Athletic Director at The Master’s Academy in Orlando, Florida.

With a schedule much the same as last year, the Sailfish will play in 19 official regular season games while also playing in an exhibition as well as the annual Alumni Game. Of the 19 dates on the schedule, seven games will be played at home as the Fish will host teams once again at Lantana Field in West Palm Beach.

The Fish open up their season on Saturday, August 16th at 3 pm when they host Polk Community College in an exhibition contest to prepare for the season. PBA will also play one more warm-up contest on August 23rd as they participate in the annual Alumni Game.

The Sailfish open their regular season on Friday, August 29th when they host Newberry College at 7 pm.

Follow the action of the PBA women’s soccer team all season long as the battle in one of the most competitive areas for collegiate soccer in the nation.
