DAVIE, Fla.- As the calendar turns to October and the Sailfish enter the final month of the regular season, Palm Beach Atlantic picked up a 3-1 road victory over Nova Southeastern to move into first place in the Sunshine State Conference regular season standings on Saturday night. The Sailfish were led to victory courtesy of some late momentum following an early deficit.
The Sailfish and Sharks battled over the opening 25 minutes to strike first, but it was Filippo Mancini of Nova Southeastern who struck first in the 28th minute. Nova held the 1-0 lead until the closing minute of the opening half as Michael O'Sullivan scored on a header coming off a corner kick from Farias Juarez.
With momentum in favor of the Sailfish entering the second half, Kebba Nyang struck early scoring on a through ball from Dominik Budic to put the Sailfish out in front 2-1 in the 47th minute. The goal was his fourth of the year.
Charlie Dennis put the icing on the cake in the 65th minute as he scored his sixth goal of the season. The goal came following a Nyang shot that was deflected by the Sharks goalkeeper right to the foot of Dennis, allowing the junior to score.
