Sailfish Rally To Defeat Embry-Riddle 3-2

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Sarah Ragland collected 18 kills and 12 blocks as the No. 15 Sailfish held off Embry-Riddle in five sets on Friday night at the ICI Center. PBA runs their winning streak to 10 straight with the victory and are now 10-3 while the Eagles fall to 6-6.

Ragland had five of her kills and four blocks in the opening set as the ‘Fish took the opener in convincing fashion, 25-16. PBA took the second 27-25 before dropping the third and fourth by the same score of 25-22. The ‘Fish rebounded to take the third 15-7, leading throughout the set.

PBA hit .323 in the first set with 14 kills but hit just .164 for the match. Ally Rohn provided 10 kills and a .348 attack percentage. She had five of those kills in the final set including the final point.

The Sailfish forced ERAU to hit .109 for the match including hitting zero in the second and fourth sets. The Sailfish had 15 team blocks while the Eagles posted 18. Ragland led all players with 12 as Molly Burkhardt added six and Sophie Hoekstra had four.

Burkhardt tallied 52 assists and six kills and 14 digs. Susie Forbes led in the digs department with 23 as Rohn collected 20. Abby DeVido and Katie Ballantyne each had 12 on the night.

The Sailfish close out the weekend at Rollins on Saturday at 4 p.m.
