WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Sailfish earned their first Sunshine State Conference win in program history Saturday night as they defeated the Florida Southern College Moccasins 4-0 at the Rinker Athletic Campus. With the win, the Sailfish are now 3-2-1 on the year, with a 1-0-1 SSC record.

After earned a 0-0 double overtime draw Wednesday night, the Sailfish wasted almost no time getting on the scoreboard Saturday night, as the ‘Fish jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. Senior Lucas Coutinho blasted a shot on goal that was deflected by Moccasin goalkeeper Cole Clingerman directly to the foot of Felipe Clavijo, who sent his second goal of the year into the back of the net. The Sailfish had four more opportunities to score in the opening half, but failed to do so.

The ‘Fish offense came out with a venomous attack in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals in the half to hand the Sailfish the easy 4-0 finish. In the 57th minute, Kebba Nyang sent in a beautiful pass from the far right side of the box all the way across to the other side as Cameron Roberts was waiting for it and tapped the ball in for a wide-open goal, his first of the year. Sixty-four seconds later, Nyang set up another great pass, this time it found Lucas Kuscevic who one-touched the ball directly to Charlie Dennis who blasted his fifth goal of the year.

Fredo Dilbert put the icing on the cake in the 71st minute scoring his second goal of the year from just outside the net as Farias Juarez placed a perfect through ball to the freshman for the goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Elliott Barker (2-0-1) picked up his second clean sheet of his career while making four saves on the night.

The Sailfish defense played a key factor once again for the Blue and White as the back line allowed only eight Moccasin shots on the evening.
