No. 17 Sailfish Take Two on Saturday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 17 Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball picked up a pair of four-set victories on Saturday, defeating Lynn University and Flagler College.
The Sailfish ran their Rubin Arena win streak to 22 while capturing their seventh straight win of the season after starting the season with three straight losses. PBA will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24, hosting Eckerd College and Florida Southern.
No. 17 PBA 3, Lynn 1
The Sailfish were led by their big front line who tallied 18 total blocks as the ‘Fish held off Lynn for a four set victory in the first match of the day. Sarah Ragland came up with 14 block assists and one solo block while Molly Burkhardt added 12 block assists. The PBA defense forced Lynn to hit just .116 including .051 in the first set.
Ally Rohn led the offensive attack with 15 kills and hit .256 while adding 17 digs to record her fifth double-double of the season. Sophie Hoekstra added 11 kills and a team-best .375 attack percentage. Olivia Finckel added nine kills.
Burkhardt had a triple-double for the ‘Fish with 10 digs and 35 assists to go along with her 12 blocks and six kills. She also had two of the team’s eight service aces. Burkhardt was the catalyst for the offense that hit .238 including .407 in the final set.
No. 17 PBA 3, Flagler 1
Ally Rohn produced 21 kills and 20 digs as the Sailfish held off Flagler 3-1 on Saturday night. The ‘Fish and Saints battled back and forth all night long with neither team able to pull away. The Sailfish won by set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21.
Rohn’s 21 digs set a career high as did her 59 swings. Olivia Finckel and Sarah Ragland were both in double figures with 10 kills each. The Sailfish offensive attack was only able to hit .179 in the match as Flagler dug up 88 balls. The Sailfish had 96 digs as Forbes joined Rohn with 20. Katie Ballantyne added 10 digs off the bench with Amy Schatzmann adding 11.
Molly Burkhardt had 44 assists to go along with 19 digs, four kills and three blocks. The sophomore finishes the weekend with 114 assists, 32 digs, 15 blocks and 14 kills in three matches.
PBA produced 10 blocks in the match with Ragland leading the way with six. Finckel and Emma Ballantyne each added four.
