WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – For the second time in three days, Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer dominated possession and the scoreboard, as the Sailfish outshot Johnson & Wales University 30-1 on Sunday afternoon en route to a 5-0 shutout of the Wildcats.
The win improves the ‘Fish to 3-2 on the season, as the loss drops the Wildcats below .500 as their record now sits at 2-3.
It didn’t take long for the ‘Fish to get on the board, as freshman Kylee Rullo beat the keeper in the 13th minute for her second goal of the season. Bridget Wollrabe picked up the assist on the play, her first of the season.
Just two minutes later, Lisa Caprara scored her third goal of the season as she beat several Wildcat defenders before blasting a shot to the upper corner of the net. Caprara added her fourth goal in two games in the 29th minute, as her shot beat the Wildcat goalkeeper after receiving a free kick from Claire Allen who picks up her second assist of the season, which leads the team.
The other first half goal came from senior Karina White, who’s header deflected off the Johnson & Wales goalkeeper and into the back of the net on a long ball played in by fellow senior Kayla Fisher.
The lone second half goal for the Sailfish came from senior Stephanie D'Cruz, as she scored her first goal of the season in the 53rd minute after a Rullo shot deflected off the post.
Goalkeepers Isabelle Granlund and Alexis Sanquist combined for the shutout on the afternoon, with Sanquist making the lone PBA save on the day.
The ‘Fish now turn their sights on Sunshine State Conference play, as PBA will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. for a 6 p.m. start on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
