Sailfish Offense Spring Loaded By First Half Performance, Defeat Badgers 4-1

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic Men’s soccer team got back to their winning ways Sunday afternoon, defeating Spring Hill College 4-1 at Bobby Campbell Stadium on the campus of Lynn Univeristy. After dropping their opening match of the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort Class on Friday afternoon, the ‘Fish came out determined Sunday as they lit up the Badgers with three first-half goals. Charlie Dennis, Kebba Nyang, and Timo Knull led the charge in the opening half.
It only took eleven minutes Sunday afternoon for the ‘Fish to grab the lead. Dennis picked up his fourth goal on the season after beating three Badger defenders and launching a shot in the left side of the net. In the 36th minute, Knull delivered a low cross into the box that Nyang beautifully touched into the goal to put the Sailfish out in front by two. Four minutes later on a Sailfish attack, Knull was taken down in the box, and delivered his first goal on the year via a penalty kick.
The Badgers struck first in the second half, as Tilman Schober scored from inside the box in the 57th minute. PBA answered ten minutes later when Dennis placed a perfect pass into Fredo Dilbert who connected on his first goal of the season to put the Sailfish up 4-1.
Elliott Barker (1-0) picked made two saves on the afternoon in his first collegiate win.
With the win, the Sailfish advance to 2-2 on the year, and will begin Sunshine State conference play on Wednesday, Sept. 14 as the ‘Fish host cross-county rivals Lynn University at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Athletic Campus
