Cross Country Places Seventh at Florida Tech Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s cross country turned in a seventh place finish Saturday morning at the Florida Tech Invitational. The meet was held at Wickham Park, and Cami Rickenbach turned in another impressive showing as the freshman finished third out of all Division II runners.

Sara-Caitrin Mandelburg also impressed once again as she finished with a time of 19:14.75 which was good for sixth as Palm Beach Atlantic finished seventh out of the 13 team field. Saint Leo won the meet with three runners in the top five.

Rickenbach and Mandelburg were followed by Sophia Miller who finished 59th overall with a time of 21:21:18. Also scoring for the ‘Fish were Alyssa Hearing and Jessica Lykins who turned in times of 21:47:50 and 22:13:92 respectively.

The Sailfish finished ahead of Sunshine State Conference opponents Lynn University and Rollins College, and were narrowly beaten by Florida Southern College and Florida Tech.

The Sailfish will be back in action in two weeks as they will take part in the UF Mountain Dew Invitational on Sept. 24 in Gainesville, Fla.
