KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Following a 1-1 start to the 2016 season, the Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team have dropped out of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 poll, but are still receiving votes.
The Sailfish opened the 2016 season on the road in Georgia, and after Hurricane Hermine pushed back the start date of their first game, the Blue and White were forced to play games in back to back days. This played a key factor in the weekend trip to the Peach State, as the ‘Fish came out on top 2-0 over Clayton State University in the opener, but fell 3-2 to North Georgia less than twenty-four hours later.
With the Sailfish dropping out of the top 25, it marks the first time the ‘Fish have not been in the poll since entering in at No. 21 on Sept. 15, 2015.
Up next for the Sailfish will be top-ranked Pfeiffer University as the ‘Fish take on the defending national champions this Friday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. in Boca Raton on the campus of Lynn University.
