MELBOURNE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic University had 55 student-athletes named to the Sunshine State Conference Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The Sailfish had nine student-athletes carry a 4.00 GPA during the spring semester.

A record number of 1,039 student-athletes, not counting 115 student-athletes from PBA and fellow provisional member Embry-Riddle, were named to the Sunshine State Conference Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2016 spring semester, announced Thursday, June 30 by Commissioner Ed Pasque. A total of 168 student-athletes carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the spring semester.

The total breaks the previous record number of 1.025 student-athletes that were named to the Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2015.

To be eligible for the Fall SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. Participants in the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball were eligible for the fall honor roll.
