Monda Named to NCBWA All-South Region Team

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic’s Dominic Monda was named to the All-South Region Honorable Mention team by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Wednesday evening.

Monda wrapped up his Sailfish career earlier this month, finishing the 2016 season with a 2.31 ERA and a 6-2 record with six saves. The lefthander tossed 50.2 innings out of the bullpen in 26 appearances and struck out a remarkable 71 batters. He was one of the most feared relievers in the region and often pitched multiple innings out of the ‘pen. He struck out five batters five times this season including a season-best seven against Lynn in three innings on Feb. 2.

In just two years at PBA – Monda also pitched in 2014 – the Pinellas Park, Fla. native won 11 games and saved 12, claiming the school record in that category. He appeared in 54 games and pitched 98.2 innings, striking out 118.
