Powers Adds Eight for 2016

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women’s cross country coach Maryellen Powers has announced the addition of eight student-athletes for the fall. The Sailfish are coming off their first season under the guidance of Powers where they won the USF Bulls Invitational in October.
“I couldn't be happier with the way our team is growing. Our returning team members have worked tremendously hard to build a foundation for the future, and we're all very excited for next year,” said Powers. “Our incoming student-athletes are smart, talented, and very hard-working. I couldn't have asked for a better recruiting class, and I'm looking forward to working with them.”
The 2016 class features four from the state of Florida and one each from Connecticut, Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania. Cami Rickenbach (Kennett Square, Pa. / Unionville H.S.), Melanie Begel (Cicero, N.Y. / Cicero-North Syracuse H.S.), Elise Combs (Rockford, Ill. / Rockford Christian), Hope Kanagy (Punta Gorda, Fla. / Charlotte H.S.), Jessica Lykins (Groveland, Fla. / Lake Minneola H.S.), Libbie Lyster (Naples, Fla. / Gulf Coast H.S.) and Makayla Richardson (Lake Worth, Fla. / The King’s Academy) have all signed on to run for the Sailfish in the Fall for their freshman campaign.
Sara-Caitrin Mandelburg(Quaker Hill, Conn. / Waterford H.S. / Nyack College) is the lone transfer joining the ‘Fish this fall after competing at Nyack College in New York. While there she was a CACC All-Conference Team runner as well as the NCAA Division II All-Region Team. After competing at Nyack, Mandelburg will run for the Sailfish as a graduate student.
