Liu Wins, Murray Finishes Third at PGA Minority Championship

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.David Liu and Ben Murray both turned in impressive showings over the weekend at the 30th PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, which was played at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Liu took home the first place individual title, the first tournament victory of his collegiate career. Liu (80-74-71-225) erased a four-shot deficit coming into the final round Sunday and won the tournament by two strokes over Norman Blanco of University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Murray (76-76-76-228) finished in a tie for third place on the weekend, just three strokes behind Liu. Murray trailed by two strokes entering Sunday’s final round and made up a stroke on Blanco but wasn’t able to catch Liu, who finished with a 1-under par 71.

Cal State University Dominguez Hills won the team portion of the event, as they defeated second place Texas A&M International University by 17 strokes.
