Four PBA Student-Athletes Attend YWCA's Stand Against Racism Lunchon

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Four Palm Beach Atlantic University student-athletes took part in the Stand Against Racism Luncheon at the Kravis Center on Thursday afternoon. The event was put on by the YWCA and featured Willie E. Jeffries as the keynote speaker.

PBA was represented by men’s basketball student-athletes Lucas Morales and Malek Barber as well as women’s basketball’s Ayanna Holmes and volleyball’s Amy Schatzmann along with Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA Courtney Lovely.

The luncheon was addressed by Jeffries, a former collegiate football coach who is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. Jeffries compiled a record of 180-132-6 in his 29 years on the sidelines and became the first African-American head coach at an NCAA Division I program when he took over at Wichita State University in 1979. He spent 19 years at South Carolina State winning 128 games.
