No. 35 Sailfish Fall 5-4 in Season Finale

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis was unable to send their seniors out on a high note, losing a hard-fought match to No. 42 Florida Tech 5-4 on Sunday afternoon to close out the season.

Nicolas Uryson finished out his Sailfish career with a pair of wins Sunday. The No. 16 player in the nationally ITA rankings defeated Aria Canadell 7-6, 7-5 in singles play and paired with Hendrik Burmeister to take down Ricardo Corona and J.J. Clark 8-2 in doubles play.

The Panthers (12-10) held a 2-1 lead after doubles action, storming back to take No. 3 doubles 9-8 and taking No. 2 also in a tiebreak, 9-8.

The last match on court was No. 6 singles as Pietro de Silva and Wade Ball battled into the third set. Ball won the first 6-4 before de Silva took the second 6-3. Ball was able to win the third 7-5 and secure the 5-4 victory for FIT.

The match ends the season for PBA at 10-9. The team loses seniors Uryson, Battistini, Asti Adams and Fernando Arroyo.
