Sailfish Ranked Seventh in First Regional Rankings

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team received good news Wednesday afternoon, as the first NCAA regional rankings were released. The South region receives eight bids to the NCAA tournament, and the Sailfish are currently ranked seventh.

Sunshine State Conference affiliated teams are dominating the regional rankings as they hold six of the top nine spot. Saint Leo University is ranked No. 1 in the South Region, and holds a 16-1 overall record. Barry University and Lynn University are also ahead of the Sailfish in the rankings.

Palm Beach Atlantic has three remaining matches on the season, all coming against nationally ranked opponents. The Sailfish host No. 6 Embry-Riddle University Thursday afternoon at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The ‘Fish then have some time off before heading to St. Leo, Fla. to take on No. 2 ranked Saint Leo on April 23. PBA finishes the regular season on April 24 at home against No. 42 Florida Tech.
