Sailfish Edged by No. 9 Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 35 Sailfish came up just short in their upset bid of No. 9 Lynn, falling on the road 5-4. The loss drops the ‘Fish to 10-6 on the season while the Fighting Knights improve to 13-5.
PBA took a 2-1 lead after doubles as both Hendrik Burmeister and Nicolas Uryson as well as Pietro de Silva and Thomas Salmon picked up victories by identical scores of 8-4. Lynn picked up a point at No. 2 doubles with an 8-0 win.
Lynn took control in singles, winning the second and third flights to take a 3-2 lead in the match. No. 16 Uryson came back to tie the match at 3-3 after a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory at the top singles flight. Lynn picked up their fourth point with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 to pull within one of the team victory.
The Sailfish needed a victory to stay alive but Jose Porfirio from Lynn came back in the second set of the fifth flight to force a third set, eventually winning over Thomas Salmon 6-7 (7-4), 7-6 (9-7), 6-2. De Silva came back to win at No. 6 by scores of 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.
The Sailfish are back in action on Thursday, hosting No. 6 Embry-Riddle in the home finale. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
