Uryson, Knight Named Sailfish Student-Athletes of the Month

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Senior men’s tennis standout Nicolas Uryson and junior softball outfielder Kayla Knight were named Palm Beach Atlantic Student-Athletes of the Month for March.

Uryson, currently ranked No. 16 in the ITA National Rankings, led the Sailfish to a 7-2 month, posting a 6-1 record in singles action. The No. 1 player on the team defeated two national ranked opponents (No. 24 Baptiste Perrin – West Liberty University and No. 16 Andre Staab – Point Loma University) during the month. His only loss was to No. 4 Ahmed Triki from Barry in a three-set match that went 16-14 in the final set. Uryson also posted a 7-1 record in doubles play during the month with a win over a nationally-ranked team from West Liberty.

Knight led the team with a .452 batting average during the month as the Sailfsih won 13 of 19 contests. The junior had three triples and scored 21 times, both leading the club. She had a .564 on-base percentage for the month and led the team with 28 hits. She also drove in six runs and stole five bases.

Softball is back in action Monday and Tuesday, hosting Rollins College in a three-game series at Simpson Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday with a doubleheader on the slate for Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Men’s tennis is back in action on Saturday as they travel to No. 30 Rollins for a 1 p.m. match.
