No. 35 Sailfish Outlast No. 43 Florida Southern

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 35 Palm Beach Atlantic pulled out a tight match against No. 43 Florida Southern on Saturday as Nicholas Battistini won in three grueling sets to end the match.
Battistini was on the court longer than anyone during the day, playing at No. 2 doubles with Fernando Arroyo, winning 9-8 (7-5) as the Sailfish swept doubles. Battistini turned around and played the only three set match in singles play, going to a tiebreak in each of the first two sets. He took the first set 7-6 (11-9) before Brian Slivonik evened the match with a 7-6 (10-8) win in the second. Battistini bounced back to win the third 6-4 to secure the 5-4 team victory.
No. 16 Nicolas Uryson was also victorious in singles play, joining Battistini with 10 wins each. Uryson only dropped three games en route to a straight sets 6-0, 6-3 win over Fabian Lundberg. Uryson and Hendrik Burmesiter picked up their 11th victory of the season at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-4. Thomas Salmon and Pietro de Silva won for the 10th time overall in doubles, playing at No. 3 on Saturday.
The Sailfish hit the road next weekend to take on No. 30 Rollins College on April 9 at 1 p.m.
