Fish Defeated by Top-Ranked Bucs 8-1

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis team fell to No. 1 Barry University Wednesday by a final score of 8-1. The Match drops the Sailfish to 8-4 on the season as two of the losses came to top-three ranked teams nationally.

Nicolas Uryson and Hendrik Burmeister received the only Sailfish victory Wednesday, as they defeated the doubles team of Fabian Pronnet and Lucas Kogachi by a 8-5 score at No. 1 doubles. The Saiflish also gave the Bucs a run at No. 3 doubles, but Pietro de Silva and Thomas Salmon fell 8-6.

The Sailfish took the Bucs to three sets at No. 1 and 2 singles, but fell in third-set tiebreaks in both. No. 16 ranked Uryson fell to No. 5 Ahmed Triki 1-6, 6-1, 16-14 in a marathon tiebreak. Burmeister fell to No. 37 Nico Dreer by a 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 final.

The Sailfish will be back in action on March 29 as they host No. 42 ranked Florida Tech at the Rinker Athletic Campus at 3:30 p.m.
