Men's Tennis Defeats Griffins 6-3 in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sailfish men’s tennis team won their second match in a row Thursday, as they defeated the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College by a 6-3 final. The Sailfish improve to 4-2 on the season with the win, as Chestnut Hill falls to 1-4.
The Sailfish dominated doubles competition Thursday, as Asti Adams and Nicholas Battistini got things started off with an 8-2 victory. Shortly after, Nicolas Uryson and Hendrik Burmeister wrapped up their No. 1 doubles match, winning by the same 8-2 score. Thomas Salmon and Pietro de Silva also won their No. 3 doubles match, by an 8-5 score.
The Griffins gave PBA tough singles competition, as Chestnut Hill won three singles matches and took the Sailfish to three sets in two other matches. No. 17 ranked Nicolas Uryson was tested, but came out on top as he defeated Pierre Koehler 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Nicholas Battistini also won his singles match, as the senior defeated Adam Gavin 6-7 (7-2), 6-3, 10-7. The only other Sailfish to win his singles match was Stanislav Feofilov, as he won his second consecutive match.
The Sailfish will be back at home Saturday, as they will play host to West Liberty University at the Rinker Athletic Campus at 10 a.m.
