Men's Tennis Improves to 3-2 With Sweep of Saint Vincent

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic tennis team got back on track Tuesday afternoon, sweeping the Bearcats of Saint Vincent 9-0. The win improves the Sailfish to 3-2 on the season, and is the first of three matches the ‘Fish will play this week. With the loss, the Bearcats drop to 0-1 to start the season.
Palm Beach Atlantic got the day started right, as they only lost two games in doubles play. The team of Asti Adams and Nicholas Battistini as well as the team of Stanislav Feofilov and Fernando Arroyo both won 8-0. Thomas Salmon and Pietro de Silva won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Singles play went by in the same fashion, as the ‘Fish only lost five games total and swept three Bobcat players 6-0, 6-0. Salmon, playing at No. 1 singles, defeated Jonathan Prichard 6-1, 6-0. De Silva defeated his Bearcat opponent 6-3, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Feofilov won 6-0, 6-0, as senior Arroyo won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Carlos Meneses and Pavel Zhdanov both won their singles matches with 6-0, 6-0 sweeps.
The ‘Fish will be back in action Thursday, as they face off with Chestnut Hill College in Orlando, Fla. They will return home Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to play No. 50 West Liberty University.
