Women's Golf Completes Play at Lady Mocs Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s golf team completed play at the Lady Moc Golf Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The tournament was hosted by Florida Southern College and held at Grasslands Country Club. The Sailfish played 36 holes on Monday, shooting a 335 in the first round and following it with a 332 in the second round. They shot 356 in the final round on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 1026 and in 17th place.

The Sailfish are back in action next week as they travel to Sebring, Fla. on Feb. 28-March 1.

Round One: Victoria Hays had the low round for the ‘Fish in round one as her first-round of 5-over 77 was 26th best out of the large field. Hays followed it with a second-round 80 and currently sits at 13-over par. Tracy Peyton had a good day on the course as well, as she followed her first-round 83 with a very impressive second-round 77. Peyton sits at 16-over par after day one, and in 60th on the leaderboard.

Round Two: Hays again led the ‘Fish with an 85 in the final round of play to finish the tournament at 242, good enough for a tie for 63rd. Peyton was forced to withdraw from the tournament, losing the team’s top average for the season for the final round.

Katie Humphreys shot an 89 in the final round to finish with the second best score on the day for PBA. Humphreys (87-91-89-267) was followed by Hayley Betz’s 92 on the day as Betz carded a 284 (99-93-92). Emily Valentine finished the tournament with a score of 265 (88-84-93).
