LAKELAND, Fla.- Utilizing a balanced attack, the Palm Beach Atlantic University baseball team witnessed their middle of their lineup collect hit after hit on Saturday afternoon as the Sailfish handed the Southeastern University Fire a double-header sweep with an 8-5 game two victory.
The three through six hitters in the Sailfish lineup combined for eight hits in the ballgame while driving in five runs. Zach Grau and Tony Livelsberger, PBA’s most consistent hitters all season long, each went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.
The Sailfish once again got on the board early as they plated three first-inning runs before tacking on another run in the second to stake senior starting pitcher Owen Grau to a solid cushion.
Grau tossed five shutout innings before running into trouble in the sixth inning and handing the ball over to Sailfish reliever Oscar Cuevas who closed out the contest by completing the final 1 1/3 innings on the mound.
A Kalamazoo, Michigan native, Grau allowed six hits and three earned runs on the afternoon while walking three and striking out three. Cuevas earned the save in relief for PBA.
PBA centerfielder Scott Urbanek finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored, a walk, and three stolen bases.
