Men's Tennis Wins Thriller 5-4 Over Keiser

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The score was tied at four matches apiece and things were not looking good for the ‘Fish as freshman Pietro de Silva was down 5-1 in the second set after already having lost the first set. De Silva would find his groove under pressure, coming back to win the second set in a tiebreaker and riding the momentum to a 6-2 third set victory and a Sailfish 5-4 win over Keiser University.
The win improves the No. 30 ranked Sailfish record to 2-1 on the young season. Senior Nicolas Uryson improved his overall record to 3-0 on the season with a 7-6 (6-4), 6-3 victory.
The day started off well for the Sailfish as the ‘Fish rattled off two wins in doubles competitions. Uryson coupled with Hendrik Burmeister cruised to a 8-4 victory while Thomas Salmon and Pietro de Silva battled out a 9-7 victory. Asti Adams and Nicholas Battistini were narrowly defeated 8-6
Following No. 6 and 4 singles falling to the Seahawks, the match was tied at four before de Silva clinched the win for the ‘Fish. Senior Nicholas Battistini was also victorious on Wednesday as he won his singles match 6-4, 6-2.
PBA will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 14 as they play host to Armstrong Atlantic State University.
