Sailfish Finish Eighth at Titan Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf team finished eighth on Tuesday at the Titan Winter Invitational to open up the 2016 portion of their schedule. The Sailfish finished with a team score of 930 (309-305-316) and finished two strokes behind Central Alabama for the seventh position. Johnson & Wales came from behind to win the tournament in the final round, finishing at 883 (+19).
Day 2: Tuesday provided tough golfing conditions for final round play as the winds were howling and temperatures were chilly at Sun Tree CC. David Liu and Ben Murray shot the best Sailfish rounds on the afternoon, as they both turned in scorecards of 78.
Ryan Fowler finished one stroke behind Murray for the tournament, as his final round 79 totaled his tournament score at 233. Daniel Langley finished with a final round 81, and Sean Boyle was the only Sailfish golfer to improve from Day one to Day two, as he carded a final round 82.
Day 1: The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf team sits in seventh after the first two rounds of play at the Titan Winter Invitational Monday afternoon. The tournament is being played at the Sun Tree Country Club. Eastern Florida State, the tournament hosts, currently sit atop the leaderboard.
David Liu fired an even-par 72 in the first round Monday, and followed it up with a 2-over par 74, as he currently sits in fifth on the overall leaderboard and leads the ‘Fish to their seventh place ranking.
Ben Murray and Ryan Fowler both sit at ten-over par for the tournament in a tie for 34th on the leaderboard. They took different routes to get to their ten-over par days as Fowler shot two rounds of 77 Monday while Murray shot a first round of 80 but rebounded with an impressive second round of two-over par 74. Daniel Langley was also consistent on the afternoon, firing back-to-back rounds of 80.
