Women's Tennis Falls to Saints 6-3

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 39 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic women’s tennis team lost to the No. 31 ranked Flagler College Saints on Sunday afternoon, falling by a 6-3 count. The loss is the first for the Sailfish in 2016, and drops their record to 1-1.

The Sailfish No.1 doubles team of Valerie Nagovitcina and Yoanna Peshev lost a heartbreaker in a tiebreaker 9-8 (8-5). The No. 2 team of Kathi Tesar and Taylor Conti were victorious in their doubles match 8-4.

On the singles side of the draw Kathi Tesar lost her first match of the season by a narrow margin of 6-4, 7-5. Valerie Nagovitcina defeated her opponent 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. Teona Tatishvili won her match in three set fashion 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The Sailfish return home to take on Keiser University on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
