CLEARWATER, Fla.- The second day of the Eckerd College Spring Invitational did not go in favor of the Palm Beach Atlantic softball team, as the blue and white dropped the opening contest 3-0 to the University of Tampa before having their second game of the afternoon vs Saint Leo rained out.

The Sailfish's third game in the Eckerd College Spring Invitational was a low scoring affair, as Rachel Hill (0-3) only allowed two hits through four innings of work. Both teams were held scoreless through four and a half innings of play.

The Spartans struck first in the bottom of the fifth with a walk, sacrifice bunt, and four consecutive singles, giving the Spartans three runs off of four hits. The three Spartans runs in the fifth were all that were needed, as Tampa won 3-0.

Juniors Victoria Gonzalez and Brianna Skipper each picked up two hits on the afternoon, the only four hits for the Sailfish.

The contest between the Sailfish and Lions were washed out due to the storm that came rolling in after the opening games on the day. The game is not set to be re-scheduled.
