More All-America Honors For The Sailfish

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The Sailfish men’s soccer team added even more accolades to it’s impressive 2015 season. The ‘Fish had four members selected to the 2015 Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-America teams Wednesday morning.
Senior Jermaine Metz, junior Lucas Coutinho, and sophomore Lucas DaSilva all earned spots on the 2015 D2CCA All-America Second Team, and junior Michael O'Sullivan was selected with as an All-America Honorable Mention.
A Manchester, England native, Jermaine Metz started in all 20 matches for the Sailfish this year while scoring 11 goals and dishing out 12 assists, combining for 34 points while playing 1,464 minutes. Metz finished 14th in the nation in assists. The senior was named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team, as well as the D2CCA All-South Region First Team.
Lucas Coutinho, the Recife, Brazil native had quite a season for himself in 2015, averaging .88 assists per game, landing him 3rd in the nation in the category. The midfielder finished the year tied for 8th in the country with 14 assists, which led the Sailfish offense. Coutinho finished the season with eight goals, tallying him with 30 points, finishing fourth on the team despite missing four games due to injury. Coutinho was also selected to the D2CCA All-South Region First Team, as well as the NSCAA All America First Team.
The West Palm Beach, Fla. native Lucas DaSilva led the nation’s top offense in goals scored with 17 and total points with 41. DaSilva finished the year 7th in the country in goals scored and 10th in total points. DaSilva made 12 starts on the year, playing in 1,233 minutes for the Sailfish. DaSilva was also selected to the D2CCA All-South Region First Team.
The defensive back out of Chelmsford, England, Michael O'Sullivan led the ‘Fish in minutes played this year with 1,539 and helped anchor a defense that only allowed their opponents to score a total of 22 times. The junior defender scored a goal in the NCAA South-Region Championship game en route to a 6-1 win over Rollins. O'Sullivan was also named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-District team. OSullivan was also selected to the D2CCA All-South Region First Team.
