KANSAS CITY, Mo.- For the tenth consecutive ranking, the Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team is ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top-25 Poll. The Sailfish finish the year at No. 5. The Sailfish have been in the NSCAA Top-25 after cracking the poll Sept. 15 at No. 21.
Ninety plus days later, the Sailfish finish 17-2-1 on the year, winning their first ever NCAA South-Region Championship, and had several members of the team named to various award teams being recognized for their accomplishments on the field and also in the classroom.
“Finishing the season ranked fifth in the nation is a true testament of how special of a year it was for this team” said head coach Brian McMahon. “I truly am proud of this team and all we were able to accomplish. Getting to host regionals and winning the South Region championship were special accomplishments for both PBA soccer and the athletic program in general. And the way we played this year on the field is a reflection of how strong of a bond the team had together off the field.”
The Sailfish will look to continue the success of 2015 into 2016, as they return 18 players next season, including seven of the club’s regular starters.
