Men's Soccer Named Top Seed in NCAA South Region Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team earned their first-ever NCAA postseason berth on Monday night as they were awarded the No. 1 seed in the NCAA South Region Tournament.
The ‘Fish finished the 2015 regular season with a 15-1-1 overall record, including a 12-1-1 record against south region opponents. PBA wrapped up their regular season this past weekend in Mobile, Ala. and defeated Southern Wesleyan University 1-0 on a 48th minute goal from Oscar Farias.
The Sailfish will face off against the University of West Alabama, who were named the No. 4 seed in the south region. The Tigers will travel from Livingston, Ala. to the Rinker Athletic Campus this Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. for the second round matchup.
The Tigers captured the Gulf South Conference Tournament title on Sunday with a 2-1 win over West Florida. The Tigers finished with a 10-6-2 overall record, and a 7-1-1 GSC record, claiming the regular season GSC championship.
The winner of Saturday’s match will move on to the Round of 16, which will be held the following weekend at campus sites. The winner will face off against the winner of the second round match between Rollins College and Saint Leo University, who were named the No. 2 and 3 seeds respectively.
