WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- After a historic regular season for the Sailfish men’s soccer team, the ‘Fish turn their eyes towards a first-ever NCAA postseason birth.
The Sailfish finished the regular season with a 15-1-1 record, best in program history in the NCAA era, and produced a 12-1-1 record against south region opponents. The NCAA uses regional rankings to determine the playoff seedings and locations played in the tournament. In each of the three prior regional polls, the ‘Fish have been ranked first in each of them.
“We are very excited about the potential to be selected to the NCAA national tournament”. PBA head coach Brian McMahon stated. “It has been a goal for our guys from the beginning. That said however it's not our purpose. Our main focus moving forward is to have an overriding sense of purpose putting team over individual and now representing PBA on and off the field with Christ-like actions the best we can”.
The NCAA will select 38 teams for the 2015 NCAA Soccer Championships this Monday night, starting at 6 p.m. The NCAA Selection Show will be broadcasted live online, and can be viewed from any computer or smart device.
If you're on campus or in the area, the team will be gathering to host a watch party Monday night, and all fans are encouraged to join in on the possible celebration. The watch party will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Weyenberg Center located on the main campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University.
