MOBILE, Ala. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team opened up play at the Spring Hill College Classic on the Hill on Friday afternoon, as they faced off against Oklahoma Baptist University. The Sailfish won the match 2-0, and improve to 5-9-1 on the season.

The Sailfish struck first in the match, as M.E. Stewart broke away into the corner and delivered a beautiful cross to fellow senior Haily Johnson. Johnson headed the ball past the Bison keeper for her third goal of the season. The assist was also Stewart’s third of the season.

The goal by Johnson was the only one of the first half, as the Sailfish defense played very strong. Goalkeeper Isabelle Granlund stopped the only shot Oklahoma Baptist put on goal in the half.

The second half went in favor of the ‘Fish as well, as a Stephanie D'Cruz goal in the 88th minute put the game out of reach. The goal was her first as a member of the ‘Fish, and was assisted by Monica Rojas, who leads the team with five.

Granlund posted her second shutout of the season, only having to make one save in the match.

The Sailfish will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 8 in their final game of the 2015 season at 1 p.m. CST against the tournament host Spring Hill College.
