WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A year after opening Simpson Field at the Rinker Athletic Campus, the Sailfish softball team is looking to keep their winning ways of last year going, hoping for a postseason run in 2016. Palm Beach Atlantic head coach Kimmy Bloemers is gearing up to begin her tenth season coaching the blue and white, and is joined by first-year assistant coaches Bailey Castro and Meagan Dooley.

The season will officially kickoff at the Florida Tech Tournament in Melbourne, Fla. on Jan. 29-31 as the Sailfish will do battle with Flagler College, Texas Women’s University, and Mars Hill College.

The ‘Fish will see plenty of action at Simpson Field this year, as PBA will play 32 of their 55 games this season at home. The Sailfish will play their first of 32 home games on Friday, Feb. 12, which will be day one of the Sailfish Showdown when they take on Armstrong Atlantic State University.

With PBA officially playing a full Sunshine State Conference slate this season, the ‘Fish will take on everyone in the SSC in three-game weekend series. The Sailfish will host Eckerd (Feb. 26-27), Florida Tech (March 11-12), Embry-Riddle (March 18-19), Tampa (April 1-2), and Barry (April 22-23).

In conference, the ‘Fish will be traveling to Rollins (Feb 19-20), Lynn (March 4-5), Florida Southern (March 24-25), Nova Southeastern (April 8-9) and Saint Leo (April 15-16).

The regular season will conclude on April 23 with a pair of home games against Barry as the ‘Fish will honor their senior class during their home finale.
