Saint Leo Women's Tennis Knocks Off PBA in Regular Season Finale

SAINT LEO, Fla.- Battling for the final time in the regular season, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team took on Saint Leo University on Monday afternoon and despite their hard efforts came away with a tough 7-2 decision.
Taking on not only a nationally-ranked opponent in Saint Leo (#29), the Sailfish also had to deal with strong winds and a cooler climate as they took the courts on Monday afternoon.
Doubles partners Montserrat Ripoll and Katie Livesay came away with the lone Sailfish doubles win at number two with a tight 9-7 victory while Ripoll continued to play well in singles as well with a victory at number one by a final tally of 6-3, 6-4.
Number two players Lina Rubiano and Natalie Aleman both put strong outings as well although they fell just short with losses in three sets and a tiebreaker respectively.
Now 10-11 on the season, PBA will turn their focus to practicing and preparing for the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tennis Championships which will take place May 4th-8th in Marion, Indiana on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University.
