WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The No. 4 Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team suffered their first lost of the season Saturday night, falling 3-1 to Barry University. This was the first home loss for the ‘Fish since Oct. 14, 2014 as the Sailfish also lost to the Buccaneers that night.
The Sailfish got on the 'board first, when Jermaine Metz scored on a defensive miscue from the Bucs in the 10th minute. This was the only offense for the Sailfish Saturday night, which was the first time all season the nation’s top-scoring offense has been held to just one goal.
Barry would tie things up in the 24th minute and send the game to half time tied at one goal a piece.
The Buccaneers scored in the 48th minute and again in the 58th minute to give themselves the 3-1 advantage over the Sailfish, which would be the game’s final score.
The Sailfish fall to 13-1-1 on the year, and will be back at the Rinker Athletic Campus Friday night, Oct. 30 as they host Ave Maria at 7 p.m. The ‘Fish will also be honoring the 2015 senior class.
