MELBOURNE, Fla.- Hitting the road for one of their final matches of the regular season, the Palm Beach Atlantic University men’s tennis team came away with a crucial 8-1 victory over Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon as the Sailfish earned their sixteenth victory of the season and firmly put their stamp for their postseason plans.
Currently ranked sixth in the NCAA Southeast region and 40th in the nation, PBA swept the doubles portion of the match while taking five of the six matchups in singles competition.
Number four singles player Frankie Moulton put together perhaps the most intriguing set of the day as he fell 0-6 in the first set before firing back with a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the next two sets to earn the victory.
Junior John Tilton also returned to action in the doubles portion from an injury but was still limited by head coach Chi Ly to holding out in singles as he continues to heal from injury.
PBA will compete in the NCCAA National Championships in Marion, Indiana from May 4th-8th while also getting ready for the NCAA Regional which will take place May 9th-10th.
