Sailfish Have Good Showing at Saint Leo Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf team hit the course once this week at the Saint Leo Invitational. The tournament was played at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The Sailfish finished 13th on the week with a total score of 897 (293-303-301). The score was the best by a Sailfish team in a 54-hole event. The Invitational was won by Barry University, who shot an impressive total score of 836 (-28).
Day One: The ‘Fish made some history Monday shooting a 293 in the first round of play, the best team round in Palm Beach Atlantic men’s golf history. The team also posted a solid score of 303 in the second round.
The Sailfish were led in round one by Ben Murray (73-74) who finished the day at 3-over par. PBA also got strong performances from Nils Persson (70-78) and Daniel Langley (74-76). Trent Harris (80-75) and David Jizdny (76-79) rounded out the Sailfish scores with composite scores of 155, respectively.
Day Two: Palm Beach Atlantic shot a team round of 301 on Tuesday, the 11th best round of the day. Daniel Langley led the ‘Fish with an impressive even par 72 on Tuesday, which moved him 19 spots up the individual leaderboard. Junior Ben Murray continued his consistent play for PBA, as he shot a 76, to finish the tournament 7-over par. Following them on the leaderboard were Nils Persson(70-78-79-227), Trent Harris(80-75-74-229), and David Jizdny(76-79-80-235).
The Sailfish will be back in action on Oct. 4 when they will travel to Achasta, Ga. to compete in the University of North Georgia Invitational.
