Men's Basketball Releases 2015-2016 Schedule

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- With the college basketball season just around the corner, Sailfish head men’s basketball coach David Balza announced the 2015-2016 Palm Beach Atlantic schedule Monday afternoon.

The 26-game schedule features 24 games against NCAA Division II South Region opponents. The Sailfish also get a full slate of Sunshine State Conference games this year, playing home-and-home match ups with all nine full-time members, as well as home-and-home games versus fellow SSC provisional member Embry-Riddle.

PBA’s schedule includes 14 home games, which 10 of them are double-headers with the Palm Beach Atlantic women’s team.

The season opens up with an exhibition game in Gainesville, as the Sailfish take on SEC powerhouse in two-time national champions University of Florida on Monday, Nov. 5. Then the Sailfish open up the regular season at home against NAIA member Ave Maria in the Rubin Arena, Friday, Nov. 13, at 7 pm.

The furthest the Sailfish will have to travel this year during the regular season will be to Valdosta, Ga. Nov. 27th and 28th when the ‘Fish partake in the Valdosta State Classic, taking on Valdosta State and Lee University.

Senior Day is scheduled for Feb. 27, as the ‘Fish host Rollins College and the Sailfish will say goodbye to Nigel Sydnor, Derick Yepes, and Michael Simpson.

"I am excited about the challenge we will face this year with the full Sunshine State Conference schedule, as well as the tough strength of schedule we are facing with our in-region games as well.” Coach Balza said. He also added “We are also looking forward to the exhibition opener in Gainesville when we take on the Gators.” He also added “We have an amazing student section in the 'Fish Tank, and we are looking forward to our home court advantage when we get to play in the Rubin Arena.”
