Sailfish Remain Undefeated, Beat Florida Southern 8-0

LAKELAND, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic (6-0-1) kept their undefeated season alive Saturday night, defeating Florida Southern College (1-4-0) 8-0. Lucas DaSilva lead the way for the ‘Fish, scoring three goals, giving him the lead for goals scored in the country with 10.
The ‘Fish came out determined, scoring four goals in the first half. Lucas DaSilva scored in the 9th minute off the assists from Lucas Coutinho and Jermaine Metz. DaSilva added his second goal on the night n the 27th minute on an unassisted goal, scoring on a laser strike from 20 yards out.
Eddy Milien added to the Sailfish lead, scoring his second goal on the year in the 31st minute from an assist by DaSilva to give the ‘Fish a 3-0 lead. Three minutes later, Cleef Desir netted a cross from Jermaine Metz to extend the Sailfish lead to 4-0.
Jermaine Metz got things going for the Sailfish in the second half, scoring in the 50th off an assist from Steven Fiema and Lucas DaSilva.
DaSilva added his third goal on the night in the 66th minute off the touch from Coutinho, and five minutes later Zac Sitler scored off an assist from Cleef Desir to extend the ‘Fish lead to 7-0.
Phill Cardoso finished things off for the Sailfish offense, scoring in the 88th minute off of the Ben Vogeney assist.
The defense had their way with the Mocs, not allowing the Mocs to take a single shot on goal.
Steeven Raymont (6-0-1), Jake Fifer, and Fernando Cortes combined for the clean sheet, which is their fourth on the year.
The Sailfish are back in action next Saturday at home, as the ‘Fish host the University of Tampa. Students are encouraged to be at the RAC before the game, as there will be a tailgate starting at 5 pm hosted by the Steering Committee.
