Meagan Dooley Officially Named Softball Pitching Coach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic head softball coach Kimmy Bloemers has officially announced Meagan Dooley as a member of the coaching staff for the upcoming season, Dooley will be serving as the team’s pitching coach this season.



A four-year letter-winner at Purdue University, she boasted a career ERA of of 1.97, and held her opponents to a .219 batting average while accumulating 45 wins for the Boilermakers. As a sophomore in 2000, she won 12 games in the circle with a 0.73 ERA, pitching 11 complete games with six of them being shutouts; helping the Boilermakers win 33 games on the year.



“It is a blessing to have Meagan Dooley as the pitching coach for the PBA softball team,” Coach Bloemers said. “Her positive attitude, knowledge in the circle and available time for our pitchers is just what they need to have a successful 2016 season. I know she will help our pitchers in many ways. Our pitching staff will be stronger and mentally prepared for our tough schedule this upcoming season. I am very excited for our team!”

A native of of Houston, Texas, Dooley and her family later moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where she attended Mountain Pointe High School, and lead the softball team to the state semifinals in each of her last three seasons. She was named 1st team All State twice, and was the state of Arizona Class 5A Player of the Year her senior year. A two-sport athlete, Dooley was also a member of the state championship badminton team as a senior.

Dooley has made several coaching appearances at camps for both Purdue softball and Mountain Pointe High School over the years. 

Dooley is a recent graduate of fellow Sunshine State Conference provisional member Embry-Riddle where she received a Masters of Science in Aeronautics. She is currently finishing flight school for her commercial pilot certificate and certified flight instructor certificates, and is expected to graduate in May 2016.

Dooley currently resides in North Palm Beach with her two dogs, Bruce and Diamond.
