Women's Golf Competes at Coastal Georgia Invitational

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s golf team opened up their 2015-16 season this week, as they competed in the Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational.  The tournament was played at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.

DAY 1: The Sailfish currently sit at 8th place on the leaderboard with a first round of 336.  Dalton State College leads the tournament through round one, as their round of 305 has them six strokes ahead of Faulkner University.

Tracy Peyton shot the best Sailfish round on Monday, as Peyton’s round of 9-over par 81 sits her in a tie for 24th on the overall leaderboard.  Close behind Peyton on the leaderboard is fellow freshman Victoria Hays, who shot 82 Monday.

Rounding out the scores for the ‘Fish were Hayley Betz (85), Katie Humphreys (88), and Emily Valentine (88).

DAY 2:  Palm Beach Atlantic shot a second round 331 on Tuesday afternoon, which kept them in 8th place for the tournament.  Dalton State College shot 301 (+13) to finish atop the leaderboard. 

Freshmen Tracy Peyton and Victoria Hays both improved on their opening rounds, with Peyton shooting a final round of 79 and Hays posting an 81.  Peyton’s 79 was good enough for a T19 finish for the tournament. 

Freshman Emily Valentine also improved on her first round score, as she shot an 83 on Tuesday.  Completing the leaderboard for the Sailfish on Tuesday were Katie Humphreys (88) and Hayley Betz (99).

The ‘Fish will be back in action on September 21st, when they will travel to Lake Wales, Florida to participate in the Webber International Invitational.
