Sailfish Fall to Tritons in OT

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s soccer team dropped a heartbreaker in overtime on Thursday night, falling by a final of 3-2 to the Eckerd College Tritons. 

Palm Beach Atlantic (2-1-0) got on the scoreboard first when Haily Johnson scored in the 12th minute off a long pass from Kasey Wyer.  Johnson beat the keeper in the box for her first goal of the season. 

The remainder of the half was filled with good scoring chances from both sides, but nobody was able to finish as the score remained 1-0 in favor of the Sailfish. 

The score held 1-0 until the 63rd minute, when Eckerd proceeded to score two goals in a three minute span to take a one goal lead, which would hold until late into the match. 

The ‘Fish would answer in the 83rd minute with a Bridget Wollrabe goal off a cross from Karina White.  The goal was Wollrabe’s third career goal and first since her freshman season. 

The score would remain tied 2-2 and the match would head to overtime where Eckerd College would win with a goal in the 96th minute.
