WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Sailfish men’s soccer team played host to Embry Riddle University Saturday afternoon in their final preseason tune-up, walking away from the Rinker Athletic Campus with a 1-0 win.

The first half started off slowly with the Sailfish having their way with the possession of the ball, not allowing the Eagles to get a shot off on goal. The scoreless tie broke in the 35th minute when junior Cleef Desir scored off the assists from Eddy Millen and Oscar Farias.

The second half was another beautiful defensive performance from the Sailfish, as the Eagles only got three shots off on net.

Keepers Steeven Raymont, Fernando Cortes, and Jake Fifer combined for a clean sheet; with Raymont playing the first half, and Cortes and Fifer combining to make two saves in the second half.

The Sailfish open the regular season Thursday, Sept. 3 against Georgian Court University in the Barry University Showcase, and open up their home schedule Monday Sept. 7, vs Colorado Christian University at 7 pm.
