WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Taking on yet another tough regional opponent, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s tennis team fought hard on Saturday afternoon but was unable to come away with a match victory as the Lions came out ahead on this day by a final tally of 6-3.

Starting with doubles action, the Lions jumped ahead early with victories at number one and number three doubles respectively. PBA’s lone doubles victory came from the duo of Montserrat Ripoll and Katie Livesay who took home the win with a 8-6 victory.

Making her first appearance in the number one singles slot, freshman sensation Montserrat Ripoll continued her fine work throughout this season as she was victorious 6-2, 6-1. The Sailfish only other victory in singles competition came at number three as sophomore Natalie Aleman earned a tight 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory.

With the loss, PBA’s record now stands at 10-9 with some more important matches coming up in their season. They will next take on Florida Southern College on Wednesday, April 9th at 3 pm.
