Rain Washes Out PBA and Lynn Series Opener

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Rain washed away what was going to be an exciting night at Rubin Park, as Palm Beach Atlantic and Lynn University were washed away for game one of their three-game series.

With the Palm Beach Atlantic sports Hall of Fame induction of former coach Gary Carter set for the night, rain came through the West Palm Beach area and wiped out both the pregame ceremony and the night’s game.

The Fighting Knights will be back in town Saturday morning to take part in a double-header, now scheduled to begin at 11 am. With grim forecasts for the rest of the weekend, the Sailfish and Knights may be forced to play Sunday, in which case they will also begin play at 11 am.

Gary Carter Night, which will include an induction to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sports Hall of Fame and retiring his number eight, will be rescheduled for Saturday April 25th when the Sailfish take on Florida Tech at noon.
