PBA Men's Tennis Sweeps Through Colorado Trip

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Palm Beach Atlantic men’s tennis traveled to Colorado over the weekend to take on Colorado Christian University as well as Colorado College. The Sailfish returned to Florida with two impressive road sweeps.
In the day’s opening match against Colorado Christian, the Sailfish used a slightly different combination of players to turn aside their competition.
Starting in doubles, Mark Heimberger and Asti Adams played in the ones spot and won 8-1, while Romain Nowaczyk and Fernando Arroyo teamed up to win the twos, 8-3. Nicholas Battistini and Ignacio Briceno swept away the final match, 8-0.
The domination continued on the singles side, with Nicholas Uryson winning in the one position 6-0, 6-2. Heimberger had a perfect sweep at two, 6-0, 6-0, and Battistini made quick work of his adversary 6-0, 6-1.
Matt Leeds, Arroyo and Briceno all brought home victories as well, giving PBA their sixth sweep of the season.
Match number two saw a more regular PBA lineup dominate in much of the same fashion over Colorado College.
Romain Nowaczyk and Nicolas Uryson gave PBA a strong start with an 8-2 win at number one doubles, followed by a Mark Heimberger and Asti Adams victory at number two, 8-5. Nicholas Battistini and Matt Leeds rolled through the Tigers’ number three, 8-1.
Singles brought another wave of Palm Beach Atlantic dominance, starting with Nowaczyk’s 7-5, 6-0 victory at number one. Uryson also took care of his opponent at two, 6-0, 6-3.
Heimberger made easy work in the number three spot, 6-0, 6-1, while Adams put together a 6-1, 6-2 win as the number four. With the match in hand, Battistini and Leeds both turned aside their Colorado College opponents by 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-1 scores respectively.
Palm Beach Atlantic returns to action on Saturday, April 11th for their final home match of the season when they welcome Flagler College to the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
