WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic baseball struggled on Wednesday night when they welcomed cross-town foe Northwood University to Rubin Park, falling 11-5 at the hands of the Seahawks.

PBA jumped on top early thanks to RBI singles from Andrew Calderone and Jake Summey in the second inning, but a four spot in the third inning by NU gave the visitors a lead they would never relinquish.

After the Sailfish squandered a few chances on the offensive side, Northwood bust through for six runs in the top of the seventh inning. The Seahawks had just two hits in the frame and took advantage of six PBA free passes.

The PBA offense threatened to bust out in both the seventh and eighth innings, but only mustered three runs and fell well short of the lead Northwood had built up.

Senior Brian Walker led the ‘Fish as the only player with two hits in the game, while Calderone went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Palm Beach Atlantic returns to action on Friday night when they travel to Miami Gardens to take on another NAIA foe St. Thomas University, starting at 6:00 pm.
