Women's Tennis Makes It Seven In A Row

Orlando, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women’s tennis team continued their winnings ways Tuesday afternoon, as they defeated Colorado Mesa 7-2, for their seventh consecutive win, and their thirteenth win overall.

The Sailfish wasted no time, collecting a sizable 3-0 advantage over the Mavericks in doubles play.  Yoanna Peshev/ Maja Jovic got things going for the Sailfish posted a 9-7 win. They were followed by an 8-4 win from Leyla Taracena/ Ana Reich. And Valeries Nagovitcina/ Michaela Mignemi won the third doubles set 8-2.

Nagovitcina got things going for the Sailfish on the singles side, winning the singles set of the afternoon, 6-2, 6-2. After dropping a couple of sets to the Mavericks, Taracena picked the pace back up for the ‘Fish, as she won 6-2, 6-2 to officially give the ‘Sailfish the victory. Reich (6-2, 6-1) and Mignemi (6-4, 6-1) closed out the afternoon with victories of their own.

The Sailfish will look to make it eight in a row Thursday at home versus University of Puerto Rico- Mayaguez starting at 5p.m. at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center
